My 1010s don't see a lot of use during the Winter months and in the past they've not gotten much special treatment. However, I'm hearing of problems with modern petrol formulations sitting in the carb. Is this just anecdote? What do you guys do to overwinter your 1010? Or do you find uses for them during the cold months?

On my equipment I'll either fill the tank and add Pri-G fuel treatment or run the tank dry. Pri-G is a way better product than Stabil and I've used it on stored fuel for years with consistently outstanding results. Pri-G is added to all the gasoline when it's brought to the ranch. We're off-grid and have lots of engine powered tools and toys some of which are over 40 years old and the only fuel issues I've had is a couple of crumbling fuel lines on 2 cycle engines.

My 1010 gets used in the winter to haul fire wood in the bucket and do any needed road repair. We live in the California hills and have mudslides and trees that go down across the road.

I suppose a geographical reference would be in order. Certainly the winters in S. Missouri are a bit different than in California.

That's an understatement! Most damage to equipment around here is when the wood rats and pack rats start nesting. Nothing like opening the hood of your truck and not being able to see the engine through all the sticks, twigs and acorns. It did drop all the way down in to the mid 20's last winter, fortunately no damage to the orange trees though.
