currently turning wrenches on my late father's 1010, in hopes of doing a full restoration over the winter. Learning a bit more every day... and loving it!
however, I have a question or 2 that maybe the Forum can help me with.
The tractor, although not "badged", is a 1010RU (by serial number). I have started wrenching on the seat, which I assume is a Float Ride, but cannot find the shock absorber for it ANYWHERE! In fact, I cannot find the seat listed accurately on any site, or in any catalog.
That being said, I started looking at 1010 Industrial models, and the seat appears to have been one of their options. (sorry, I have no pics now, so will describe) I searched out this hunch, since I noticed areas of the tractor, including the seat, were pre-coated with the Industrial Yellow prior to the Green. The seat was one of them.
The seat is "narrower" than most 1010 Float Rides, has a wraparound backrest, and has a cable/pulley system for pre-loading (adjusted with a crank), and a shock absorber in the mix. Any other shock I have found is a grommet mount, and mine is threaded on both ends and secured with nuts.
The compressed length is 10.5"
The expanded length is 16"
The cylinder is about 1 7/8" diameter.
The threaded ends are 3/8"
Anyone got any ideas?
