| JD 1010 1965, started by a squealing belt, bought a can of belt spray to help it stick, still squealing and generator light stays on no matter how tight he rpm is up? any suggestions Thanks | |

| Yeah I never use that belt spray stuff; it only works a handful of times. I’m out of ideas for the belt; the only thing I can think of is that it’s getting old and time to replace it.
As for the generator with the gen light staying on it could be anything, Is there any way you can test the generator to see if its charging the battery?
With the engine off the battery should have 12 volts. With the engine running at about 1200 RPM the battery should have more than 12 volts if the generator is charging the battery.

| So I went bought a new belt took the generator in to be rebuilt, will take a week or so will keep you updated thanks | |
