Hello!!! I just found this forum and registered. I own a '64 1010RUS, and wish I had this resource a couple of years ago as I worked on my tractor. I use it as the only tractor on my Missouri 80 acres, and rely on it for a lot of things as you can imagine. I wish the RUS had some features that the RU and other 1010 models have, but it is what it is. I haven't modified it much, other than adding electronic ignition which eliminated starting problems on cold MO winter days. If you can add this upgrade to the 1010 series it probably is a big improvement in performance on this tractor and I definitely recommend doing it. I have a few things that need to be fixed, but nothing major enough not to rely on this tractor. One thing it is missing is the linkage for the 3-point hitch load-level feature. I bought a link off E-Bay but it appears to be for the 1010 crawler and doesn't fit right or my linkage brackets are bent. I have the shop, parts, and owner's manuals for this tractor, and I would be glad to look up stuff if somebody has a need for info, and I have some experience in finding parts. Trying to figure out the ignition system and hitch components on this tractor was difficult because of multiple model configurations and different manufacturers for non-JD items over the course of production years - but, hey, this is why this is FUN. Right!!???
Anyway, glad to be a forum member, and I'm ready to help people keep their 1010 going.... or sympathize if they run into issues.

Welcome!

Sorry I am so late in greeting you. I tend to only look at the general discussion.

If you haven't noticed yet, my son and I are restroring his Great Grandfather's 1964 RUS.

So far things have gone pretty smooth. Son works at a JD house so he has a big knowledge pool to draw from. Thankfully we haven't had to dip too deep.

Welcome to the forum.
