Hi guys,
My tractor is a 1964 JD 1010 gas. W/ loader. Noticed the trans oil is milky, no doubt water. not really sure how it even got in there.I need to replace the oil.
Having trouble finding out what to put in the unit. I think it is hyd fluid but I want to be sure. can any one give me some help. The oil now is way too thin to be 80w gear oil.

I've been running hydro fluid in mine for almost 2 years with no issues.

Went to check the trans fluid on my 1010 and saw that is was over full and milky so I had water in it too. I just finished changing mine. My manual says gear oil in the trans and final drives so I used 85w-90 as it is close to the 80w specified. I am using JD Hydratrans fluid in the hydraulic system as it is completely separate.
