I got the set off ebay for about $5-$6 with free shipping, I have the Prestolite Ignition but some early 1010's have the Delco Ignition

I have the Delco ignition and no experience or knowledge of points. I've heard they have to be gapped. How did you know how far to gap them?

I've seen the tune up kits on ebay for about 37 bucks with shipping. This includes points, condensor, distributor cap, spark plug wires and plugs. My 1010 could definitely use a tune up.

Ignition kits should come with the gap gauge in the kit, If you can get all that for about $37 with shipping then thats a good deal, The cap alone i have seen as high as $15-20 by it self.

Don't know if Delco and Prestolite have the same gap but mine was set to i think .022 or something like that.

I went with a Pertronix electronic conversion on mine. Works great. You need a grommet for the wire going into your distributor to keep the water out. Don't forget to clean and lube the point cam and a bit of oil on the advance mechanism to keep it working.
