| Occasionally The battery wont start, 1 year old battery, just replaced the started and generator- generator light stays on bright all the time, seems like the battery over a few weeks runs down on its own. I overnight charge it and it starts right up. Please help in explaining how or what keeps the battery charged if their is no alternator? Thanks Steve Kalispell, MT | |

| Do you have a volt meter? Check the volts on the battery with the tractor off, Then start the tractor and run it about 1,000 RPM and check the volts on the battery again, if it’s about the same or lower then for some reason the battery is not charging. Try checking the Voltage regulator. Most likely that’s at fault if you just replaced the Batt and generator.
I’ll check mine tomorrow morning and get some readings for you.
