1010 Special Hood Decal Empty

There is a very original 1010 Special on ebay with the original paint and it has hood decals rather than the chrome emblems with the raised lettering. My 1010 Special does not have the mounting holes in the hood so I guess it also had decals. Is this something specific to the RUS models?
